Malaysia’s second Universal Periodic Review (UPR) took place on 24 October 2013 at the Human Rights Council (HRC) in Geneva. During the session, Malaysia received a total of 232 recommendations from 104 Member States.

Of the 232 recommendations, 150 recommendations enjoyed the support of the Malaysian Government, while the remaining 82 recommendations were not supported by the Government. The Government is to implement all the 150 supported recommendations before Malaysia’s third UPR cycle in 2018.
